This time every year the industry watches very closely with anticipation for announcements of the new pantone color of the year. And if you didn't know, Pantone IS the worldwide standard for color communication and inspiration since 1963.
This year is all about earth…that is, color of the earth, MARSALA. Now, quite a few have doubts about this earthy full bodied tone, but let's be open minded here and discover why this should be the color of the year 2015.
Marsala is warm and inviting, it's robust and when paired up with the right color combo, WOW! what an impression that leaves.
Marsala works well with 2014's pantone color of the year, radiant orchid. It also pairs well with subtle colors, like, cream, mauve & champagne.
Below is a visual palette with some of IJORERE invitations collection paired up nicely with MARSALA. ENJOY!

My concept: Eclectic Luxury. I love an unusual mix of vintage, contemporary with a cup of European flair. I especially go for ideas one wouldn't think could work together so beautifully. I picked out an emerald green patterned African batik fabric, known as ankara as my table runner and headed to Macy's to purchase mixed match sets of dinnerware for my tablescape. I envisioned vibrant multicultural colors that would appeal to the majority, and came up with shades of emerald green, turquoise, different hues of pink and antique gold as my accent colors.
My goal: It was important to entice my audience, and re-introduce Ola la for its intended use; a luxurious and intimate space suitable for weddings, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners and more. I also really wanted to feature the beautiful backdrops offered in the very quaint & historic city where my venue resides, downtown Elgin.
The date was Sunday, July 27th. I wanted it to be a sunset shoot, so we waiting till evening as the sun went down, it was so romantic.
We had five models, two editorial stylists & make up artists, a floral head piece designer, two professional photographers, a calligrapher, a painter, a florist, bridal wear (all hand picked by moi), and Stephanie, my wonderful cake lady. Jorelle surprised us with a video trailer he had created during our bridal preps, check it out! – Behind the Scenes
Everyone was in high spirit, working diligently to showcase their talents, excited for the outcome. It took about three months of coordination, to make this all happen to my heart's delight. And what an accomplishment! The end results, was everything I envisioned and more. Pure Perfection!…see for yourself.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to my preferred & most trusted vendors below, and the models for joyfully participating in this first luxury bridal shoot. There will be more GRAND editorials to come. Thank you so much.

When Ola throws a party you know it's got to be GRAND! It wasn't a surprise that when she decided on a fabulous 1920's Gatsby Halloween soiree, it was a HIT & Oh So Swanky!
Everyone came prepared; Ladies wore flappers, feathers & bobbed wigs while the fellas looked dashing in fedoras, Oxford shoes, or slicked back hair like Leonardo Dicaprio in The Great Gatsby movie.
Ola wore a bejeweled skirt from her favorite British shop, Virgos Lounge, posing as the "Madam of the Evening".
For entertainment, her soiree consisted of a fashion show by Project Runway designer, Kahindo Mateene of Modanik. Aspiring designer, Anely Leon opened for Kahindo. Both designers showcased their unique & beautiful collection. Cigarette girls greeted guests as they entered IJORERE Atelier, Martini Room provided all the signature martinis, boozed delicacies, and a fog machine all created the perfect Gatsby setting as the live band, Ann Alee & The Midnight Sons play through the night.
The evening was reminscent of everything 1920's. Check out the highlights below.
Jennifer C. won an overnight staycation jazucci suite at the Comfort Suites, which also included a bottle of wine & morkes chocolates for Swankiest dressed!
Our lovely couple to the right were the runner ups!
A special thank you to our sponsors for supporting this fabulously swanky affair. This absolutely would not have been so effortless without them!

When I was eight years old, my mom signed me up for a very strange class: Origami. At first, I had no idea what it was or why I needed so many little squares of colorful paper. However, as the class started and my fingers got used to all the folding, I found I really enjoyed creating tiny cranes and little boxes out of paper.
Upcoming at the IJORERE Atelier, we're bringing a fun origami workshop for kids and parents alike!
Samantha Burt, our super talented instructor will guide you through what is origami and how to create wonderful art in just a couple hours!
Let's take a look at some of her original art and don't forget to sign up for the workshop!
